This was designed to offer a modern take on the classic leather pocket journal, but without the "rustic" that usually accompanies it.

Its ergonomic shape fits nicely in the palm and can easily slip into pockets and bags of any size.

The smooth void space of the inner cover and use of natural retention in lieu of a latch closure help to keep the lines clean and remove any hesitation or distraction from the creative moment.

It also gets better with time, as it softens and takes on the scars and characteristics of its owner's lifestyle.

**This is a natural product that lived a life. dimples, striations, and scaring, give unique qualities and character to each piece. I do my best to balance this with a more streamlined, modern aesthetic.

Creator Note

This design represents the complete vision for Obsidian Notes, and  the "applied simplicity" that I strive for in everything that I make.

With the end-goal of having the usefulness of a Field notes book, the  the readiness of a post-it note, and the interchangeability of a traveller's notebook all rolled into one.
